Advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures
When you need surgery, let Parkview help you get back to daily life as quickly as possible. Robotic-assisted surgery is an innovative, state-of-the-art surgery that is less invasive than open surgery with less pain, smaller incisions and quicker recovery.
Parkview has surgeons who are specially trained and experienced with using the da Vinci© Surgical System at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Parkview Hospital Randallia and Parkview Whitley Hospital. The da Vinci gives the surgeon full control of the instruments—making small incisions and intricate movements beyond the capabilities of the human hand. The device also has a high-definition 3D camera to provide the surgical team with an up-close view from inside the body.

Benefits of robotic-assisted surgery
The da Vinci® Surgical System offers surgeons the same advantages of laparoscopic surgery with the added benefits of more precise instruments, better vision and an increased level of control – allowing minimally invasive surgery in cases where it may not otherwise be possible.
Compared to open surgery, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries offer the following benefits to patients:
- Shorter hospital stays and faster recovery
- Less pain and blood loss
- Less pain medication
- Reduced risk of infection and complications
- Smaller incisions and less scarring
Additionally, robotic-assisted surgery provides surgeons with:
- More precise instruments
- Better visibility
- Increased level of control
Your care providers will evaluate your situation, including your diagnosis, general health and other factors to develop the most appropriate and individualized treatment plan for your needs.
Robotic-assisted surgery may not be the best fit for every patient.
