Package programs make it easier for your workforce to access Parkview’s award-winning care. You can offer these programs as part of your employee benefits plan, helping you limit costs, keep workers healthier, and retain talented members of your team.

Ortho Package Program

With the Ortho Package Program, your health plan members can get total hip or knee replacement surgery at low or no cost to them. These surgeries are performed by the board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic specialists of Ortho Northeast (ONE). And because the procedures are minimally invasive, most patients are able to return home the same day as their surgery and potentially shorten their recovery time.

What’s included in the program?

The following services are covered as part of the Ortho Package Program:

Presurgery joint education class (available in person or online)
Guidance from a surgical care coordinator to help schedule surgery and prepare patients every step of the way
Minimally invasive robotic or outpatient surgery at a Parkview facility
Facility, surgeon professional, and anesthesiology professional charges
24-hour concierge phone line for questions anytime during recovery
Individualized nursing support

Will patients have any out-of-pocket costs for their surgery?

There is no patient copay for the surgeon and facility fee when surgery is performed through the Ortho Package Program. This is one of the key benefits you offer to your health plan members to support their care.

Is physical therapy included in the program?

Physical therapy is not included in the Ortho Package Program. Therapy visits will be ordered by the surgeon and billed through the patient’s primary insurance. Patients will still receive the same high-quality therapy services guided by the surgeon’s treatment plan.

What if patients need testing or specialist visits before surgery?

Any presurgical services—such as an initial specialist consultation, lab work, MRIs, or other diagnostic imaging—will be ordered as needed and billed to the patient’s regular insurance. These services are not part of the Ortho Package Program.

Do I have to go to a specific location for my surgery?

Yes. Surgery will be scheduled at one of three Parkview facilities based on the surgeon and care needs:

How do patients get started?

The journey begins with an initial consultation with an ONE specialist. If the specialist determines that surgery is the right course of treatment, patients will be connected with a surgical care coordinator who will schedule surgery and guide patients through every step, from presurgery education to recovery.

Will patients need to stay overnight in the hospital?

In most cases, no. Surgeries performed through the Ortho Package Program are outpatient procedures, meaning patients typically go home the same day as their surgery, allowing them to recover comfortably at home.

Who are the surgeons performing these procedures?

Surgeries are performed by the board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic specialists of ONE—a team with over 60 years’ experience providing world-class orthopedic care in northeast Indiana.

What kind of support will patients receive after surgery?

After surgery, patients have access to the following:

A 24-hour concierge phone line to provide answers to patients’ questions anytime
Individualized nursing support to help guide patients’ recovery
A follow-up call from an ortho transitional care coordinator within two days of surgery

When does coverage under the Ortho Package Program end?

Ortho Package Program coverage concludes after the patient’s postoperative follow-up visit(s) with their surgeon. These visits are included as part of the program to ensure that the patient’s recovery is on track. Any care needed beyond these visits, including treatment for complications, will be billed to the patient’s regular insurance.
