Employee Assistance Program

The Parkview Employee Assistance Program (EAP) partners with organizations to offer mental health counseling services for employees and their household members. These services are paid for by the employer and available to employees at no cost. Benefits of an EAP include: increased productivity, reduced absenteeism and turnover rate, reduced workplace accidents, and lower healthcare costs with reduced referrals for outpatient treatment.

Individuals and couples can meet with an EAP counselor to discuss a variety of topics and concerns, including (but not limited to):

  • Crisis intervention
  • Trauma response
  • Grief and loss
  • Family and marital stress
  • Relationship issues
  • Alcohol and substance abuse
  • Personal and work stress
  • Divorce and recovery
  • Parent coaching
  • Emotional difficulties

Program options

Services are billed at a per employee per month rate for companies with 50+ employees and at a flat annual rate for companies with less than 50 employees.

*The number of sessions per person, per household, per calendar year. Sessions are non-transferable and do not carry over year to year.

Student Assistance Program

The Parkview Student Assistance Program recognizes that students of all ages are faced with many challenges inside and outside the classroom. When life’s demands exceed everyday resources, support from a qualified counseling professional can help students navigate challenges and achieve greater success.

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Identity issues
  • Anger management
  • Stress
  • Relationship problems
  • Substance abuse
  • Relationship counseling
  • Consultation service for someone you might be concerned about.

Group sessions led by a counselor are also available for small groups of students. Group counseling can provide a supportive and encouraging environment for discussing and working through issues together.

On-Site Crisis Response is also available, including debriefing sessions to help in coping with incidents like the death of a peer or traumatic incidents.

On-Site Crisis Response

A critical incident may be defined as “any workplace event outside the usual human experience which causes unusually strong emotional reactions.” Examples may include robbery, a workplace death or injury, or any event perceived as a threat to personal safety.

Critical incidents are traumatic and can interfere with an individual’s ability to function. In addition, these events can have a long-term negative impact on both the individual and the entire work team.

Providing on-site crisis response helps equip employees with the tools they need to alleviate physical and emotional stress-related symptoms such as headaches, nightmares, depression, anxiety and anger.

  • Reassure your employees that they are not alone in the situation.

On-Site Crisis Response accelerates the recovery process while evaluating whether additional services are needed. Ongoing professional counseling may still be required. Confidentiality is always maintained.

Program Details

On-Site Crisis Response includes these services:

  • Pre-assessment phone intervention.
  • On-site group intervention/debriefing (up to one hour).
  • Post-intervention one-on-one session (maximum 30 minutes following group intervention as needed).
  • Follow-up, 45-minute individual sessions at a Parkview Employee Assistance Program site (up to a total of three per incident).

Additional services are available on a fee-for-service basis through the Parkview Employee Assistance Program office. An additional travel fee is charged for On-Site Crisis Response services provided outside Allen County, Indiana.

The Parkview Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers a wide variety of workshops, presentations and classes focused on education, skills development, prevention, awareness and personal growth related to human behavior and performance. All sessions are available for individual purchase.
