In 1990, Ortho NorthEast (ONE) became the first orthopedic group in the region to open a freestanding outpatient surgery center. The practice quickly grew and, in 2010, a 65,000 sq. ft. facility was built on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus.

In 2013, ONE partnered with Parkview Ortho Hospital and renamed the facility Parkview SurgeryONE. A compassionate team and a state-of-the-art facility

Research shows that staff members who are specially trained in orthopedic care, as well as a facility specifically designed to meet the unique needs of orthopedic patients, can lead to improved outcomes. At Parkview SurgeryONE, we have both.

Our entire team is trained in orthopedic care – from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery. Nursing staff is CPR-certified, with ALCS and PALS certifications for safety. More importantly, we’re focused on you. We understand surgery can cause feelings of uneasiness, and because of this, we take extra time to help answer your questions, relieve your concerns and calm your anxieties.

Parkview SurgeryONE’s state-of-the-art facility offers amenities and resources to help you feel more at home, including:

What is an ambulatory service center (ASC)?

As an ASC, Parkview SurgeryONE is a highly regulated facility that provides outpatient surgery and preventive care. For patients who qualify, Parkview SurgeryONE may be a great choice for outpatient procedures. New technology and surgical techniques, as well as our highly specialized surgeons with Orthopedics NorthEast, make outpatient surgery safe, comfortable and convenient.

Our facility and staff meet extensive state and federal requirements and are reviewed regularly to ensure safety and quality. Because we specialize in the procedures we perform, we’re able to concentrate on patient safety and the patient experience and have an excellent record of safety and quality outcomes for patients.

Just like traditional hospitals, ASCs must comply with a wide range of laws, rules and regulations. Parkview SurgeryONE is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We maintain a strict sanitary environment, taking an active role in identifying and preventing infections and reporting our outcomes to appropriate authorities.

We also conduct regular, comprehensive assessments of the quality of care we provide to our patients. When it comes to the emphasis placed on patient safety, there is no difference between a hospital and a surgery center like Parkview SurgeryONE.

In order to participate in the Medicare program, we’re required to meet certain conditions set by the federal government to ensure that the facility is operated in a manner that assures the safety of patients and the quality of services. We follow stringent ASC laws to maintain our Medicare certification and state licensure.

In addition, we maintain complete, comprehensive and accurate medical records that include a medical history and physical examination relevant to the reason for the surgery and the type of anesthesia planned. Patients at our facility undergo physician examinations both before surgery and prior to discharge to ensure their safety.
