Your health and well-being encompasses every part of your life, including your mind, body, spirit and community. At the Parkview Center for Healthy Living, we offer numerous programs and services to help you begin or continue your personal well-being journey.

Our programs are based around four topics of living well. Learn more about them below.

Live Well: Learning Series

We offer a variety of educational programs and workshops through the Live Well: Learning Series. Physicians and health care professionals provide you with the latest medical, nutrition and exercise information. Programs include Freedom from Smoking, Stress Relief and Mindfulness Meditation, Asthma Questions & Answers and much more.

Live Well: Healing Arts

Parkview Health, in collaboration with Fort Wayne Dance Collective, offers Healing Arts, a program that integrates literary, movement, music and visual arts into your well-being journey. The program includes drum circles, painting workshops and mindfulness journaling courses.

Live Well: Nutrition

Our team of registered dietitian nutritionists offers monthly programming to help educate you on the latest nutrition trends, meal planning ideas, heart healthy diets and eating strategies for greater well-being. We also offer a variety of cooking demonstrations.   

Live Well: Screenings

We offer a variety of low- and no-cost health screening opportunities to help you know your numbers. You can take advantage of foot screenings, bone density screenings, height and weight measurement checks and a variety of lab work options. Our Check-up Days are our flagship programming for these low- and no-cost health screenings.

Ask the Dietitian

Our Center for Healthy Living registered dietitians are here to be your personal advocates to educate, guide and support you on a personalized journey toward better nutrition, improved lifestyle habits and overall enhanced well-being. Their approach includes listening to your needs and answering your questions on various nutrition topics.

You can schedule a free, one-time appointment with one of our registered dieticians to address your nutrition needs. Ask the Dietitian appointments are 20-minutes and take place over the phone.

Topics to discuss with the dietitian include:

  • Improving or maintaining your current level of well-being and nutrition
  • Setting and accomplishing nutrition and well-being goals
  • Helping you recognize potential barriers to accomplishing your goals
  • Identifying preventative resources for a balanced lifestyle

Massage Therapy

You deserve to be pampered. To relax and release the tensions of everyday life. To regain tranquility, your sense of balance, the feeling of just being yourself.

Our staff at the Parkview Center for Healthy Living are here to help you find that needed balance between life's responsibilities and relaxation. Our licensed massage therapists are specially trained in therapeutic massage techniques to help alleviate your pain and promote wellness.  Their goal is to help your body relax, enliven your senses and promote wellness.

One-hour Swedish massage
This stress-reduction and general relaxation massage involves techniques on feet, legs, hands, arms, face, neck, shoulders and back.

Therapeutic massage
This massage involves the manipulation of soft-tissue structure to help alleviate pain, muscle spasm and stress.

Prenatal massage
This massage offers a wonderful way to relax, increase energy and relieve the discomforts of pregnancy. It can also help you prepare for the birthing process by increasing awareness of areas of tension, allowing you to practice proper relaxation techniques during the massage.

Deep tissue massage
This massage is deep therapy used on one area to help release trigger points and constricted muscle and can help with the build-up of scar tissue.

Lymph drainage massage
This relaxing treatment helps restore and increase the flow of lymph throughout your body. It is beneficial for inflammation, chronic pain, headaches, sprained joints and sinus and allergy problem.

Reflexology
This treatment is designed for your hands or feet.  Those skilled in reflexology believe points in our feet and hands correspond to other parts of our body.  Reflexology can be beneficial for many issues including headaches, sinus problems, PMS, indigestion and plantar fasciitis.

Biofreeze
Biofreeze  provides penetrating, long-lasting relief from arthritis, sore muscles and joints and back pain. Its unique menthol-containing formula penetrates quickly, preventing or relieving pain through cold therapy. Biofreeze is 100 percent paraben-free and propylene glycol free.

Available at the Woodland Plaza and Parkview Noble locations in roll-on, spray and gel.

My Best Health

A program to help you lead a healthier life

Are you ready to make a long-term commitment to improving your health that will last a lifetime? If so, it's time to consider My Best Health, a program offered through the Parkview Center for Healthy Living at several Parkview campus locations.

What is it?

My Best Health is a six-month program designed to help you make healthy lifestyle behavior changes by setting personal and intentional goals to improve your overall health and well-being. Participants are provided with monthly specialized support and resources from a team of professionals, including a well-being coach, registered nurse, registered dietitian and personal trainer. Each participant will work with the team to set attainable goals based on their personal health journey. Maintenance for the program is also available.

My Best Health is available through the Parkview Centers for Healthy Living. Class size is limited to 10 participants at each location, and you must submit a fully completed application to be considered. Participants will receive an official welcome packet via email. Please note that completing an application does not guarantee automatic enrollment into the program.

Qi Gong

Qi-Gong began in China over 5,000 years ago and is practiced by all the major Tai Chi families, including Chen, Yang, Sun, Wu and the Hoa.

What is Yoga?

Yoga means to yoke, or unite, the body, mind and spirit. Traditional Hatha yoga, as practiced at the Center for Healthy Living, is a holistic practice that can include physical strengthening postures (asana), purification techniques, breathing (pranayama), soothing stretches and meditation. Hatha yoga is an effective exercise program that can be used by everyone, regardless of age or ability level. Its effects can be felt after the very first session.
