Basic and Beyond Parenting (Intensive Weekend Class)
Unfortunately, babies do not come with instruction sheets, and the anxiety about caring for your newborn can be overwhelming. This class is designed to help you feel more confident by teaching you basic parenting skills and more. Partners are encouraged to attend this class, which covers topics such as:
• Infant care skills
• Calming a crying baby
• Protecting your child
• Choosing a care provider
• Understanding infant sleep patterns
• Breastfeeding skills and bottle-feeding
• Car seat safety
Basic and Beyond Parenting Weekend Intensive Class is a one-day intensive class held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center conference rooms. The American Heart Association® Family & Friends® Infant and Child CPR and relief from choking course will be taught at the end of the class. CPR begins at 2 p.m.
