The gift of time

The magnitude of a parent’s love can be matched only by the magnitude of sorrow they feel when their time together is cut short. Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. It’s a day to come together and support others who have grieved a baby, so that no family gets lost is the silence.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2013, approximately 24,000 stillbirths were reported in the United States. That’s about 1 percent of all pregnancies.

At Parkview, we believe that those moments spent with your baby, though their little heart is still, are valuable. With this in mind, we offer the CuddleCot  to any patient who wishes to prolong their time with their little one. This service is designed to provide precious memories in a time of sorrow.

There are resources available for families experiencing the loss of a baby. We encourage you to seek support through one of these programs:

Community Grief Center
Erin’s House for Grieving Children
Kerith Brook Retreats for Grieving Adults
Healing Hearts Support Group
