COVID-19 vaccine guidance: Heart disease

There’s an overwhelming amount of information circulating in the media regarding the coronavirus vaccine. This can lead to confusion and trepidation about the best course of action for each individual. Particularly those who are dealing with chronic disease or other comorbidities that could complicate their decision.

For many, cardiovascular conditions are a factor. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. The most common forms of heart disease include coronary artery disease, congenital heart defects, hypertension, arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, mitral valve regurgitation or prolapse, and aortic stenosis.

In this video he discusses general recommendations for patients with heart disease and the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
