A moment of reprieve

Before and throughout the pandemic, a team of holistic nurses has been assisting our frontline staff by facilitating moments of reprieve for team members who are considered to be in crisis and therefore in need of emotional, physical and/or spiritual support. These interventions, dispatched as a “Code Lavender,” utilize different modalities, including massage, prayer and nourishment.

So far, in 2020, the Holistic Response Team has answered 10,574 Code Lavenders and provided 32,791 interventions for staff in need. These numbers show tremendous growth compared to last year, when the team facilitated 17,120 interventions.

The Holistic Response Team is made possible in part by donors to the Parkview Foundation. Donor generosity assists in purchasing supplies and tools needed for rounding on first responders and staff. These necessary items allow the Holistic Response Team to intervene during an employee's time of need and help deescalate situations through holistic interventions, education and continued support in the future.
