Personalized coaching for sustainable, healthy habits

Healthy lifestyle habits can be key to reducing your risk of disease or experiencing complications from a health condition. But healthy habits can be difficult to maintain, especially when working on your own.

To help you achieve your goals, your employer can partner with Parkview Workplace Wellness Lifestyle Change Services. At no cost to you, you can take advantage of a variety of helpful services:

These offerings include conversations with a lifestyle change specialist (LCS). This health professional has completed special training to help you improve in one or more of the following areas:

An LCS will not judge you or tell you what to do. Instead, this vital team member serves as a resource to help you fine-tune your behavior, so you can reach your full potential while working on your well-being.

Supporting your well-being through nutrition

In addition to lifestyle change specialists, your employer can give you access to registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) who support employee health and well-being. You can access RDN services through a referral from a provider at your Parkview Employer Clinic or from an LCS.

RDNs deliver personalized, evidence-based guidance that aligns with your unique needs and goals. This process includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and ongoing monitoring to support lasting health outcomes.

Wellness screenings

Your employer may also provide access to on-site biometric screenings provided by Parkview Workplace Wellness professionals. This quick and confidential screening measures key health indicators, such as blood pressure, height, weight, and waist circumference, helping you better understand your current health status and identify opportunities to improve your well-being.

FAQ

Have additional questions? We’re here to help. Review the FAQ below to learn what to expect during your biometric screening and blood draw, how to prepare for your appointment, where to find your results, how to complete your health risk assessment (HRA), and how a post-screening consultation can help you better understand your health and wellness goals.
What happens at the biometric station?
A certified screener will take your height, weight, blood pressure, and waist circumference. All results are confidential and the screening will take less than five minutes.
Will I have to take my shoes off for my height measurement?
If you would like the most accurate height recording, we recommend taking off your shoes while being measured.
Can I eat prior to my blood draw?
No food should be consumed for 8-10 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Can I have anything to drink prior to my blood draw?
You may sip small amounts of water to take your regular medications. Do not consume any other types of drinks for 8-10 hours prior to your scheduled appointment; this includes coffee.
How long will the blood draw take?
The process should take 5–10 minutes.
My physician ordered some blood tests that aren’t on your list. Can you add these to my blood draw?
Unfortunately, additional lab tests that we don’t offer cannot be added to your blood draw.
How do I view my results?
Biometric and lab results will be visible in your wellness portal within 24–48 hours after your screening event. Your lab results will also be viewable in your MyChart account if you have one set up through Parkview.
Can you help me understand my lab results?
Please refer to the Understanding Your Lab Results guide for detailed explanations of common lab values and what they may indicate about your overall health.
Will my results be sent to my physician?
No, your results will not automatically be sent to your physician. You can print your results and send them to your physician or directly fax your results through the wellness portal.
My employer is offering a health risk assessment (HRA). How do I take this?
On the home page of your wellness portal, you will see a box for your HRA. Click “Take Survey” to complete the HRA.
How long will it take me to complete the HRA?
It should take 10–15 minutes to complete your HRA. We recommend taking it in one sitting, uninterrupted.
How do I know if my HRA is completed?
The HRA box on the wellness portal will display an option to download your report.
My employer is offering a post-screening consultation. What is this?
A post-screening consultation is a 10–15-minute confidential conversation with a certified wellness coach. This meeting will give you a basic overview of your biometric and lab results.
Why should I have a post-screening consultation?
Understanding your health status is vital in maintaining and improving your overall wellness. By meeting with a certified wellness coach to review your screening results, you will learn about your current health status and plan the next steps on your wellness journey.
How do I schedule an appointment with my wellness coach?
Wellness coaching sessions are virtual and can be scheduled at times that best fit your needs. The care team at your clinic may refer you directly to a wellness coach, or you can email coaching@parkview.com to provide your name and employer and request a coach to connect with you.
