Tracking Post-COVID 19 Conditions (Track PCC)

This project studies the incidence and prevalence of long COVID or Post-COVID-19 conditions. Indiana residents ages 7+ who have recently tested positive will be followed for 18 months using surveys to understand symptom progression. This is in collaboration with the VA, Marion County Public Health and Parkview. This research is funded by the CDC as part of a larger nation-wide study.

Parkview Perinatal Center Data Review

The aim of this project was to assist with establishing a robust data evaluation plan for Kathy Detweiller, Director PCE & Navigation Women & Children’s Service Line plan. HSIR helped with one of six grant initiatives that were to provide guidance, training and quality improvement support to the Parkview Perinatal Center (PRMC and all affiliate hospitals). As part of the quality improvement initiative, HSIR performed a retrospective data review to assess current and past rates of postpartum hemorrhage and worked to identify and devise implementation strategies to decrease hemorrhage rates.

Healthy Digital Habits in Parents of Infants

Parent smartphone use during infancy and early childhood may be an important opportunity to intervene to establish healthy digital habits, and potentially improve parent sensitivity, parent-child attachment, and more. We examined real-time parent phone use and linkages with parent mental health. Through our study results, interviews, and focus groups, we also began the development of programming for parents of infants centered around forming healthy digital habits.
