Getting the Most from Your EAP: A Training for Leaders
Parkview Employee Assistance Program (EAP) partners with company leaders in supporting their employees in being their very best in the workplace. Work- and home-related cares and concerns can create distractions and barriers to being fully present on the job. EAP provides counseling, consultation, and resources to employees and household members. Issues addressed include mental health, substance use, relationships, financial concerns and others. Leaders can encourage participation in EAP for those they’re concerned about or mandate participation in situations that could be job-threatening. This workshop will equip leaders to make the best use of this program.
Participants in this workshop will be able to:
- Understand the current mental health crisis in the workforce.
- Explain the role and benefits of their EAP.
- Recognize situations that indicate referral to EAP might be helpful.
- Approach and comfortably engage an employee about concerns affecting job performance.
- Identify need for a timely EAP referral or suggestion and how to facilitate both.
Audience:
This workshop is designed for all leaders, from veteran to emerging, who are often the ones to observe changes among their team members. Leaders will leave this workshop with increased confidence that they know you to effectively support and encourage change.
