Ken Shields

Ken Shields, EAP Manager

Ken Shields, MA, LMHC, LCAC is the manager of the Parkview Employee Assistance Program. He earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in marriage and family from Wheaton College and has over 20 years of counseling and supervision experience in multiple settings. Ken’s approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, solution-focused and holistic in nature. Ken’s clinical focus has been varied with teens, adults, and couples in areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, navigating life challenges such as health or employment changes and substance abuse counseling. His work settings have included community mental health, inpatient treatment, addiction treatment facility, as well as providing mental health counseling within a group medical practice. Ken is also a Tier 3 Star Behavioral Health Provider for military personnel and their families.

Cheryl Perry Confer

Cheryl Perry Confer, EAP Specialist

Cheryl Perry Confer, MS, LMHC, has more than 30 years experience with EAP, providing assessments with therapy, case management and critical incident stress debriefing. She enjoys working with adults, couples and families, and has a special interest in working with women striving to develop and maintain healthy relationships. Cheryl incorporates biblical principles into the counseling process for those interested in a Christian perspective. Cheryl has counseled adults in the areas of addiction, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and family relationships and spiritual issues. She is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified and RRT (Rapid Resolution Therapy) trained.

Nicole Gaedtke

Nicole Gaedtke, EAP Specialist

Nicole Gaedtke, MS.Ed, LMFT, has worked in the mental health field for 8 years with experience in outpatient therapy, assessment and crisis intervention. She received her bachelors of Science from Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2011 and her Masters of Science in Education from Indiana University Fort Wayne in 2015. Nicole is currently licensed as an Indiana Marriage and Family therapist. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Nicole Specializes in working with couples and families, but enjoys working with all ages, individuals and groups. Her areas of interest are grief and loss, anxiety disorders, depression, premarital work, chemical dependency and trauma.

Jeri Forrest

Jeri Forrest, EAP Specialist/Student Assistance Program

Jeri Forrest, MSSA, LCSW, has a master’s degree of science in social administration with a concentration in youth and families from Case Western Reserve University and is a licensed clinical social worker. Jeri has nearly 19 years of experience working in the mental health field in outpatient, inpatient, residential and school settings. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, family relationships, stress management, grief/loss and trauma. Jeri’s approach to therapy is strengths-based and includes attuning to an individual’s emotional intelligence by utilizing brain-based tools and attachment theory to explore the individual person as a whole. Jeri is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She enjoys working with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, geriatrics and families.

Shelly Edwards

Shelly Edwards, EAP Specialist/Student Assistance Program

Shelly Edwards, MSEd, LMFT, has a master’s degree in education from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., and is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has provided counseling services since 2000. Shelly has made numerous educational presentations to local civic clubs and schools and at health fairs. Her area of expertise is working with young adults, and she currently provides counseling services to college students.

Julie Shearer

Julie Shearer, EAP Specialist 

Julie Shearer,MA, LMHC, LCAC, MAC, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in counseling and sociology and a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grace College. Her counseling approach is strengths-based and solution-focused. She has counseling experience in a variety of areas, including depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, relationship issues and spiritual concerns. Julie enjoys working with all ages and has training in play therapy and sand tray therapy specialties. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT). Julie is passionate about walking alongside others to pursue holistic wellness in an empowering and compassionate manner.

Victor F. Kolch

Victor F. Kolch, EAP Specialist

Victor F. Kolch, D. Min., LCSW, has more than 45 years in specialized ministry, with Board Certifications both as a Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor. His Master of Divinity was obtained from Christ Seminary- Seminex in St. Louis, Missouri, and Doctor of Ministry from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Victor’s entry into the clinical world began as an alcohol counselor at Bristol Hospital, in Bristol, Connecticut. He has experience as a pastoral counselor and licensed clinical social worker in both outpatient and church settings. Victor’s preferences are seeing young and older adults with mood disorders, trauma, spiritual discernment, chronic medical conditions, end-of-life/ethical issues, and couples.

Heather Burgette

Heather Burgette, EAP Financial Educator

Heather Burgette, MBA, is passionate about helping people to take charge of their personal finances by stopping the cycle of unhealthy habits. She draws experience from her own personal finance journey, working one-on-one with clients, and leading personal finance workshops in the Fort Wayne community. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 2004 and her Master of Business Administration in 2008, both from Taylor University. She has taught business courses, undergraduate and graduate, for more than 12 years. Heather's passion to help people with their finances extends to running an online blog and a self-published book.
