Family Medicine, Community

A positive healthcare experience is made up of many small moments. Scheduling an appointment online. Feeling prepared for a visit. Getting answers when questions come up. And knowing what to do next. MyChart is designed to support these moments by keeping you connected and informed throughout your care journey.

During National Patient Experience Week (April 26–May 1), we’re highlighting how this digital tool supports care experiences at Parkview and makes managing health easier for you and your family.

Everything you need, all in one place

Your healthcare information is brought together in one secure, simple space. Whether you log in from a computer or the mobile app, your information is ready when you need it.

With your MyChart account, you can:

Having key information in one place can bring peace of mind and help you feel more confident at each step of care.

More ways to schedule care on your time

Finding appointment options that fit a busy life matters. That’s why Parkview continues to expand self-scheduling options using MyChart. Many appointments can now be scheduled online without making a phone call. You can choose times that work best for you and manage visits whenever it fits your day.

Self-scheduling allows you to:

  • Find appointment times that match your schedule

  • Schedule or cancel visits anytime

  • Spend less time waiting on the phone

It’s a convenient way to get started with care.

Staying connected between visits

Care doesn’t stop when your appointment ends. With MyChart, you can stay connected before and after visits, so you know what comes next.

You can:

  • Review after-visit instructions

  • Send non-urgent questions through secure messages

  • Receive reminders about upcoming appointments

These features keep you informed and supported between visits, without extra stress.

Supporting families with proxy access

Care often involves more than one person. Proxy access allows patients to share parts of their health record with trusted family members or caregivers.

This shared access can support:

  • Parents managing a child’s appointments

  • Caregivers assisting with a loved one’s care

  • Families staying organized and involved

It’s one more way MyChart encourages teamwork, while still protecting privacy.

Understanding teen accounts and proxy access

As children grow into their teenage years, how health information is shared begins to change. Teens ages 14–17 can have their own MyChart access, which supports learning how to take part in their care.

For families, this means:

  • Teens can view their health information and take on more responsibility

  • Parents or guardians have limited proxy access, such as scheduling, joining a video visit and viewing vaccination records.

  • This balance supports teamwork between teens, parents, and care teams as responsibilities grow.

For more details, including how to request proxy access for teens and adults under your care, explore the proxy information and resources center.

Every step supported, every experience connected

Whether you’re scheduling a visit, reviewing results, sending a message or caring for someone you love, MyChart plays an important role in the overall patient experience. It’s one of the ways Parkview works to keep care connected, supportive and centered around you—at every stage of your health journey.

Your health. Your journey. Made simple with MyChart.
