2025 Healthy Care, Healthy Costs

Reducing costs. Improving lives. Transforming healthcare.

Indiana consistently ranks among the 10 least healthy states in the U.S., grappling with high rates of chronic disease, significant health disparities, and avoidable hospitalizations. During the recent Total Cost of Care Data Challenge, student teams from Butler University analyzed Medicaid data, uncovering critical trends and identifying the urgent need for preventive strategies. These include interventions that address chronic conditions, behavioral health, and social determinants of health—particularly among aging adults and rural populations.

As a result, Parkview Health, in collaboration with Hylant and Butler University, invited global innovators to join the fifth installment of its innovation competition, the Healthy Care, Healthy Costs Innovation Challenge—a bold initiative aimed at reducing preventable healthcare costs and improving outcomes for high-risk populations through scalable, forward-thinking solutions.
