From June 2021 – February 2023, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Expansion Services in NE Indiana project was delivered in eight counties in northeastern Indiana. The overall goal of this project was to increase the number of individuals in the targeted region who receive mental health services and supports by expanding availability and access. Services included screening, assessment, patient-centered treatment planning, medication services, outpatient screening and monitoring, case management, psychiatric rehabilitation, Assertive Community Treatment, mobile crisis intervention, referrals to tobacco and vaping cessation programs, vocational and education counseling, and other social and community supports.

Through this project, Park Center exceeded its goals by providing services to nearly 12,000 patients, with thousands of additional individuals receiving telehealth screenings or contacting the 24/7 helpline. These services also contributed to improved outcomes among this patient population, such as lower scores on the PHQ-9 (a depression screening tool), improved functioning in everyday life, a reduction in serious psychological distress, and an increased number of patients who were socially connected and retained in the community. A subset of patients who were interviewed about their experiences also provided overwhelmingly positive feedback related to their perception of the care they had received.

Parkview Research Center supported these efforts through our role as program evaluators. Beginning in September 2023, we continued this partnership as Park Center received additional funding from SAMHSA to further implement and expand services.
