Heart Support Groups

Our support groups are facilitated by expert Parkview Heart Institute staff members who are committed to helping you thrive in a life with heart disease. Our groups encourage connection and growth. We encourage you to learn from one another and from our trained heart-health advocates.

When you join a Parkview Heart Institute support group, you can expect to:

  • Be encouraged.
  • Discover strengths you never knew you had.
  • Connect with other people who understand your experiences.
  • Share health information.
  • Learn about valuable community resources.

Her Heart Support Network

If you are a woman who has survived a heart-related event or has heart disease, you are part of a growing sisterhood in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. To help you connect with other women like you, Parkview offers the Her Heart Support Network of Parkview Heart Institute.

We invite you to join us, no matter your age or personal story.

In 2024, Support Network meetings will be offered in a hybrid setting, with virtual and in-person options, with the exception of April, July and December when meetings will be in-person only. Please RSVP to jill.zahm@parkview.com or to 260-266-6153.

Brave Hearts: A focus group for men with heart disease

If you are a man who has been diagnosed with heart disease or experienced a heart-related health event, join Brave Hearts: A focus group for men with heart disease. Here, men will gather in an open forum to ask questions and share experiences and ideas on adjusting to life after being diagnosed with heart disease. Each month includes a new topic or event focusing on healthy living, exercise, nutrition, stress reduction, smoking cessation and more.

Our group meets monthly on Thursdays at the Parkview Heart Institute, 5th floor, from 6 – 7 p.m. If you’re interested in joining, please RSVP to michelle.wood@parkview.com.
