Home away from home
The Ronald McDonald House Northeast Indiana gives families with a hospitalized child a home base. Located within the Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital at the Parkview Regional Medical Center, we offer 15 guest rooms and 11,000 square feet of space for families to rest and recharge.
Providing support and resources to day and overnight guests, the Ronald McDonald House is open to families 365 days a year at no charge. Overnight guests have 24-hour access to their room and common spaces. Day guests are welcome daily, 8 a.m.–9 p.m.
Putting families at the heart of care
The Ronald McDonald House is designed around the special needs of pediatric patients and their families. We offer the following amenities:
- Children’s play area, toys, and books
- Daily breakfast bar
- Evening meals
- Grab-and-go snacks
- Large kitchen and dining area
- Laundry facilities with detergent provided
- Showers with towels and toiletries provided
- Space to relax with games and television
Overnight guests
Overnight guests are referred by hospital staff members. Factors that are considered for an overnight stay at the Ronald McDonald House include the following:
- Condition of the patient
- Location of the family’s home
- Transportation issues
- Other circumstances that may indicate the need for an overnight guest room.
Prenatal rooms for high-risk moms-to-be
We offer prenatal rooms for moms to be who are experiencing high-risk pregnancies. These rooms are also free of charge.
Moms can be referred to the Ronald McDonald House by their physician if they meet these criteria:
- Not in need of hospitalization but need to be close to the hospital
- Live a substantial distance from their physician or hospital
- Able to have someone age 18 or older staying with them
Ronald McDonald House Family Lounge
Located in the Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the family lounge is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and available at no charge to families with an infant in the NICU.
Steps away from an infant’s bedside, the family lounge features a kitchenette with grab-and-go snacks, quick meals, a dining space, a comfortable lounge, and a children’s play area.
