Featuring the Frontline: Chaplaincy

Last Modified: May 04, 2020

People of Parkview

The past few months have introduced us to new challenges and new procedures. It has changed the way we do our jobs and deliver care. It has transformed the manner in which we communicate and collaborate with each other, and our patients. Through all of the ups and downs, it has been the dedication and adaptability of our tremendous teams that have enabled us to continue serving our communities. It’s the world class teamwork happening on the frontlines that’s carrying us through these difficult days.

We wanted a closer look at what a “typical” day (or night) is like for these frontline co-workers in the fight against COVID-19. We invited several of them to grab their phone and record some of the highlights of their shift. One volunteer was Diana Flory, a chaplain at Parkview Regional Medical Center, who works evenings Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Chaplaincy

Diana was kind enough to share some of her thoughts and a glimpse into the services she provides and what those look like in the midst of a global pandemic. Thank you, Diana, for taking us behind the scenes and for the incredible work you do for our staff, patients and patient families. You are a gift to our health system.
