People of Parkview

In 2024, Emily Hammond, BSN, RN-BC, trauma research coordinator, Parkview Health, was in a life-threatening car accident. Upon her arrival at Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC), Beth Burns, NP, PPG – Acute Care Surgery, joined the team of caregivers providing critical intervention to the then-anonymous crash victim. It wasn’t until later, when Emily was discharged, that Beth realized she’d known the patient all along.

Emily and Beth reflect on the attentive and careful tenderness our Parkview family shows one another. In Emily’s case, this meant frequent visitors willing to help her wash and braid her hair and get through a tough recovery journey.

At Parkview, the concept of family stretches beyond the one we’re born into. It’s a commitment to treating the people we work alongside with love and kindness, particularly in the moments they need it the most.
