In 2011, when Parkview Health selected Epic as its choice for a patient-centered, community-based EMR, Epic had been earning certifications, awards and recognition for several years from numerous organizations. In order for our region's physicians and practitioners to achieve their goals in managing the population health in our communities by fostering more meaningful partnerships in healthcare between clinicians and patients, tested and proven tools are needed as Epic sits at the top. With a focus on quality, patient safety, security and appropriate clinical data sharing, Parkview Community Connect clinicians using Epic are improving the health and wellness of our communities by delivering Excellent Care to Every Patient, Every Day! 
Since 2013 the Community Connect program here at Parkview supports over 46 providers in the region. These physicians and advanced practice providers serve 2 regional critical access hospitals and 12 independent outpatient clinics.

EMR Certification for Meaningful Use

Epic’s EpicCare EMR solutions for acute care hospitals, ambulatory practices and health information exchange have been tested and certified under the CCHIT Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. 

HIMSS Davies Award

Epic customers hold more HIMSS Davies awards than any other vendor's clients. They've also been recognized by the Joint Commission/National Quality Forum and CHIME for their use of Epic in initiatives to improve patient care.

KLAS Rankings

KLAS bases it reports from thousands of healthcare specialists who actively use EMR and Practice Management solutions. For the past 25 years KLAS has been measuring vendor performance to provide accurate information about HIT (health information technology). Epic has again been named the #1 Overall Software Vendor for 2012 by KLAS* and we consistently earn high ratings for customer satisfaction, response times and promises kept.

HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 Award

The EMR Adoption ModelSM (EMRAM) identifies and scores hospitals using an 8 step scale that charts the path to a fully paperless environment.

  • 68% of Stage 7 US Hospitals use EpicCare.
  • 100% of Stage 7 Clinics use EpicCare.

Healthcare Industry Software Developer Code of Conduct

Epic fully endorses and formally adopts the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Association's Developer Code of Conduct that encourages cooperative and transparent business practices among industry stakeholders. Epic has had a long history of embracing the Code's key values and practices including: responsible development, patient safety, interoperability and data portability, clinical and billing accuracy, privacy and security and patient engagement. We are proud to have participated in the Code's creation and to stand alongside our fellow EHR developers in demonstrating mutual support for safe, interoperable innovation.  Several key industry leaders have publicly made the supportive comments about this Code, including by Farzad Mostashari from ONC, Michael Barr, MD from the ACP and Jeff Smith from CHIME.
