Huntington North senior Addy Wiley added two more individual track state championships on Friday night, winning both in record setting time.
Addy won the 800-meter run at the IHSAA Girls Track & Field State Finals with a time of 2:06.26, edging the previous state meet record by 0.36 seconds. She followed it up with a first-place finish in the 1600-meter run at 4:38.69, shattering the state meet record by nearly five seconds.
Additionally, Addy placed third in the 3200-meter run (10:38.57) and anchored the Vikings' 4x400-meter relay team--with Emma Hozinger, Gracie Fields and Ella Colclesser--to a 14th place finish (4:04.2).
Addy won state titles in the 800 and 1600 a year ago; and ran to a state title in the 1600 as a freshman in 2019. In cross country, she raced to three Top 10 All-State finishes, three individiual sectional titles, three individual regional titles and two Northeast 8 Conference individual championship. Her personal best 5,000-meter race time of 17:53.4 is the best in school history.
She was also named 2021 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year in track & field. Addy holds the indoor state records for the 800-meter run, the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. She is also recognized as the national champion in mile at the Nike Outdoor Nationals last summer summer
Had her sophomore track season not been canceled, Addy could be graduating from Huntington North with even more state titles on her résumé.
Addy signed her national letter of intent to run cross country and track at the University of Colorado in November.
