Huntington North's Wiley signs with Colorado cross country and track

November 24, 2021

Huntington North High School senior Addy Wiley will continue her running career at the University of Colorado.

The state and national champion signed her national letter of intent during a ceremony Monday on Bob Straight Court at Huntington North Arena. She will run distance track events as well as cross country for the Buffaloes' NCAA Division I program that competes in the Pac-12 Conference. Colorado women's cross country has won three national championships in this millennium.

Addy chose Colorado over scholarship offers from Princeton, Stanford, Michigan and Virginia.

Addy has had an illustrious running high school running career so far. In track & field, she won the 1600-meter run state championship as a freshman and junior and the 800-meter run as a junior (sophomore season) and could add to that state title total in her upcoming senior season. She was also named 2021 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year in track & field. Addy holds the indoor state records for the 800-meter run, the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. She is also recognized as the national champion in mile at the Nike Outdoor Nationals this past summer.

In cross country, Addy raced to three Top 10 All-State finishes at the state meet: 10th as a sophomore, 6th as a junior and 7th as a senior. She is a three-time individual sectional champion and three-time individual regional champion and two Northeast 8 Conference championships. The Vikings won two sectional titles, two regional titles and the NE8 team title in 2020.

Addy's personal best 5,000-meter race time of 17:53.4 is also best in school history.

She is also a four-time All-Conference soccer player (1st team three times) and played basketball for two years. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Rotary Interact Club, Junior Rotarian, Student Athletic Board, Freshman Mentors, Huntington Youth Leadership Academy and in the Top 25 of the Huntington North senior Class of 2022.

She plans to study speech and language pathology at the University of Colorado.
