Breast cancer screening

Our technologies

Intraoperative CT scan
We have the only intraoperative CT scan for specimen and margin assessment in Indiana. This specialized imaging technique provides real-time images, allowing surgeons to make informed decisions quickly during surgery, which enhances patient safety and improves overall outcomes.
Reconstruction and oncoplastic surgery

We offer a full range of breast reconstruction and oncoplastic surgery options, partnering closely with our plastic surgeons to support both cancer treatment and cosmetic outcomes. Reconstruction planning is integrated into care whenever appropriate.

We also perform the Goldilocks mastectomy, a procedure that combines mastectomy and breast reconstruction in one operation.

APBI
We’re equipped to perform external beam accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), which is a treatment method that uses high-powered X-rays to target the area around the original cancer site, sparing some normal tissue. This technique is also known as prone radiation, and it’s designed to minimize the radiation dose to the heart and lungs. Please note that this option is only possible in select cases.
Contrast-Enhanced Mammography
We offer contrast enhanced mammography, an advanced imaging technique that combines traditional mammography with a contrast agent to improve the detection of breast cancer.
Recovery
We utilize enhanced recovery anesthesia protocols and regional nerve blocks, which are designed to optimize outcomes and expedite recovery by minimizing surgical stress and complications.
