South Side senior Alana Barrera will continue her softball career at Huntington University.
Alana put pen to paper during a signing ceremony Thursday, January 6 at the school.
Alana plays a variety of positions, but mainly in the infield. She earned first team All-Summit Athletic Conference honors as a freshman and Honorable Mention All-SAC honors as a junior. Her sophomore season was canceled and her senior campaign is yet to come,.
Last season, she held a .348 batting average with 16 hits and 13 runs batter in.
Alana plans to study criminal justice.
