Heritage volleyball players make college choices official

Three Heritage High School volleyball players held a signing ceremony Tuesday to celebrate their committments to play at the college level.

Seniors Layla Meyer, Allison Richman and Ella Bickel put pen to paper while flanked by family, friends, teammates and coaches.

Layla will play for Huntington University, an NAIA program that competes in the Crossroads League. The libero/defensive specialist recorded 337 digs and 74 service aces this past season. She earned first team All-Allen County Athletic Conference honors. Layla plans to study psychology. 

Allison signed with Indiana University Kokomo, an NAIA program that plays in the River States Conference . She is a two-time All-ACAC 1st team selection. The Patriot setter had 2,208 career assists. She recorded 240 kills, 60 assists, 35 blocks and 124 digs. Allison plays club volleyball for Team Pineapple Club. She plans to study sports management. 

Ella signed with Indiana University East, an NAIA program that also participates in the River States Conference. Ella tallied 43 kills, 55 assists, 30 service aces and 214 digs as a senior. She earned 1st team All-ACAC honors a s junior and 2nd team as a senior. Ella is undecided on a major.

Collectively, Layla, Allison and Ella led Heritage to three-straight ACAC regular season championships and four-straight ACAC Tournament titles.
