FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Concordia Lutheran High School has finished renovations to its wrestling room, surprising head coach Jamie Jones in the process.
More than 70 volunteers worked over Christmas break to clean, and renovate the room which has seen more than 50 years of use. New mats and lighting were installed and a paint job freshened the room. Additionally, Cadet wrestling memorabilia now hangs in the wrestling room, including every team and individual champion since 1967.
“I feel humbled that so many people would do this for the program,” Jones says. “It really adds a layer of class to the room.”
The renovations were able to be done through contributions surpassing $25,000 and a lot o hard work.
“The volunteers honor the legacy of the program and how the great sport of wrestling impacted their lives. Rehabbing the wrestling room meant building upon the culture of unity and strength the Cadet wrestling family already posses.”
