Ayanna Patterson named to Team USA U18 3x3 basketball roster

Homestead basketball star Ayanna Patterson will be representing the United States at the upcoming U18 3x3 Basketball World Cup team.

Ayanna, a senior-to-be at Homestead, is one of three women selected to the Team USA roster. The team will play in the FIBA event August 24 through 29 in Hungary. U.S. training camp starts August 19 in Chicago.

3x3 basketball is a relatively new form of the game featuring three players on each side attempting to score 21 first or have the most points at the end of timed regulation.  3x3 basketball made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games. 

Ayanna played in the 3x3 U18 national championships in 2019. In May, she was one of 27 girls selected to the U19 World Cup team trials (regular basketball). She participated in the U19 national team trials in 2019, as well.


Ayanna averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds as a junior. She is one of the top recrits in the Class of 2022m and committed to playing college basketball at UConn.  Ayanna also works out with PSM Performance.
