Indiana Tech took home the women's outdoor national championship on May 28, after three days of events at the NAIA meet in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Warriors stood atop the podium with a total of 84 points, and were led by individual national championship performances from Leondra Correia (100-meter hurdles) and Loanie Cellard (5,000-meter race walk).
Indiana Tech scored in ten separate events: 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m hurdles, long jump, triple jump, 5,000-meter race walk and the heptathlon.
Indiana Tech head coach Doug Edgar was named national coach of the year.
Emma Wilson from Huntington University won the 1,500-meter run national championship with a time of 4:28.60. Wilson won the individual NAIA cross country national championship earlier this year. Huntington finished tied for 5th as a team with 37 points.
Saint Francis distance runner Alex Ebetino finished 6th place in the 5,000-meter run, and completed the Triple Crown of All-American honors in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.
