South Side teammates make college plans official

Two South Side High School seniors made their college athletics plan official May 12, putting pen to paper during a ceremony at the school.

 

Davonte Williams signed to the University of Saint Francis and the Cougars' NAIA football and track teams. Davonte played free safety at South Side, amassing 66 tackles (41 solo) and an interception in his senior season. On the track, Davonte competed in sprint and hurdle events. He plans to study exercise science, and would like to be a sports performance specialist one day.

 

Torry Jones is joining the the men's track program at Missouri Valley College, an NAIA program in Marshall, Missouri. He competes in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the 400-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. Torry also played football for the Archers, recording 38 tackles (28 solo), a forced fumble and a fumble recovery at a senior.
