March 1, 2019

WOODBURN, Ind. - Woodlan High School senior Isaac Meyer will continue his football career at Marian University.

Flanked by family and coaches, Meyer signed his national letter of intent Thursday to join the NAIA school in Indianapolis.

Woodan featured Meyer as a two-way player, but he primarily played defensive end for the Warriors. He tallied 89 total tackles (62 solo, 27 assisted) 8 sacks in 10 games this past season. On offense, he rushed for 3 touchdowns, caught 2 touchdown passes and is credited with one 2-point conversion. He also returned some kicks throughout the year.

Since starting a football program in 2007, Marian has become a perennial powerhouse in the NAIA. The Knights have won 2 national championships, finished once as runner up and clinched 5 Mid-States Football Association titles.

Meyer plans to study criminal justice.

Woodlan is one of 25 local high schools that partners with Parkview Sports Medicine for athletic training, nutrition, athletic rehabilitation and orthopedic services for Warrior student-athletes.
