Braves crowned Hall of Fame Classic Champions

The Blackhawk Christian boys basketball team prevailed over a tough field in the Hall of Fame Classic held December 30 at New Castle High School.

The Braves, top-ranked in Class 2A, needed back-to-back overtime wins to secure the tournament championship.

In the morning semi-final, Blackhawk Christian beat 1A #1 Barr Reeve 75-66 in overtime. Caleb Furst scored 18 points and 12 rebounds. Marcus Davidson and Jake Boyer added 15 points and Zane Burke added 14 points.

Blackhawk Christian battled all game 2A No. 5 Shenandoah in the Hall of Fame Classic title game. The Braves held an 11-point fourth quarter lead, and to held off a furry rally in regulation from the Raiders. Blackhawk Christian pulled away in overtime, winning 66-59.  Furst netted 20 points and 17 rebounds. Burke added 17 points, Marcus Davidson scored 13 points and Boyer had 10 points.

Furst was named Hall of Fame Classic tournament MVP, and Burke was named ot the All-Tournament team.
