Northfield's Emma Brainard named Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship recipient

Northfield High School senior Emima Brainard has been named the Wabash County recipient of the 2021 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded by the Community Foundation of Wabash County, and gives Emma a four-year full-tuition scholarship to an Indiana college of her choice and a $900 yearly sipend for books and equipment.

Emma is a cheerleader at Northfield. She also participates in Key Club, student government, the Wabash County Dress Drive while working in her family's excavating business and having a marketing internship at a local hardware manufacturer.

Emma was selected through an application process that highlighted her community service, volunteerism, extracurricular activities, work experience, and leadership roles. Winners statewide were chosen by the Independent College of Indiana. 

While her in-state college plans are yet to be decided, Emma plans to study business and be the first in her immediate family to earn a bachelor's degree.
