Fort Wayne, Manchester University hosting DIII Final Four through 2026

October 15, 2020

The NCAA Division III men's basketball Final Four will stay in Fort Wayne through 2026, the organization announced on Wednesday, October 14.

The NCAA extended hosting duties for the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, Manchester University and Visit Fort Wayne and additional 4 years, awarding them the national semi-final and championship game in 2023 through 2026.

As part of a previous bid cycle, the Summit City was selected host of the Division III national semi-finals in 2019; and was slated to host them on March 20, 2020, before the remainder of the tournament was cancelled. The Coliseum remains scheduled to host the national semi-finals in 2021 and 2022.

The NCAA's decision marks an 8-year committment to Fort Wayne hosting the Division III Final Four.

The semi-finals and finals of the tournament from 2023 to 2026 is expected to bring in $2.6 million in for the local economy, according to Visit Fort Wayne.

The NCAA previously announced that the Division I Final Four will be held in Indianapolis, while the Division II Final Four will take place in Evansville - making the Hoosier State the center of the basketball world this spring.
