Fryman, Kauffman & Kline find themselves on NAIA All-America teams

Three local college basketball players have earned All-America honors from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for their play on the court this season.

Sarah Fryman of the Huntington women's basketball team was named to the 1st team, DeAnn Kauffman of the Tech women's team was named to the 3rd team, and Josh Kline of the Tech men's team was named honorable mention.

Sarah FrymanFryman, a senior forward from Huntington, earned Crossroads League Player of the Year earlier in March. Fryman was second in all of NAIA in scoring, averaging 23.1 points per game. She was the team leader in rebounds at 7.4 per game. She ranked second nationally in free throw percentage (91.7), as well. Her performance made her an 1st team All-Conference selection in back-to-back seasons. Huntington finished 21-11.

 

 

KauffmanKauffman, a senior guard, averaged 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.2 assits, 1.9 steals and 1.0 blocks per game en route to her 3rd team selection. She earned 1st team All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference honors, as well as Academic All-America honors this season. The No. 9 Indiana Tech women swept the WHAC regular season and tournament championships, and had advanced to the second round of the Division II national championship for a third-straight season, before the remainder of the national tournament was canceled. 

 

 

klineKline's honorable mention selection comes after a season where he averaged 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 57.1 percent from the field. The sophomore forward was named 1st team All-WHAC, as well. No. 24 Indiana Tech finished 21-12, losing to Holy Cross (Indiana) in the first round of the Division II national tournament.
