Lakeland inducts 6 into Athletics Hall of Fame

Lakeland High School added six new members to its Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, January 31. The 2019-2020 inductees were honored during the boys/girls basketball doubleheader at home.

Kelly Dillon

  • Holds 200m Dash Record – 25.26
  • Holds 400m Dash Record – 56.26
  • 4 x NECC All-Conference Recipient (T)
  • 2 x NECC All- Conference Recipient (BB)
  • 1998 NECC Tournament Championship
  • 2 x IHSAA Sectional Champion (400m)
  • IHSAA Sectional Champion (100m, 200m, Long Jump)
  • 3 x IHSAA State Qualifier
  • IHSAA State Runner-Up (1999-200m)

  • One of the original 4 Teachers at Lakeland
  • First Varsity Head Football Coach at Lakeland (1964)
  • Created the Interlocking L’s logo for the school and athletic department
  • Head & Asst. Baseball Coach
  • 56 Years as the Lakeland Boys’ Basketball Book Keeper
  • 45 Years as an event worker for the Lakeland Track & Field Inv.
  • 35+ Years as a Ticket Taker for home Football games
  • Served on the Lakeland School Corporation Board of Trustees
  • Exemplifies the meaning of being a True Laker
