Lakeland's Brayden Bontrager hits 1,000 career points

Lakeland High School senior Brayden Bontrager has joined the fold of area prep basketball players who have scored 1,000 career points. 

Bontrager hit the milestone January 31 in a home game against Garrett. He scored 20 points in the Lakers win, which propelled him to the 1,000 career point mark. Lakeland athletic director Roman Smith presented Bontrager with a commemorative ball. 

Bontrager scored 351 points as a freshman, 379 as a sophomore, and 270 in 13 games so far as a junior - a 20.8 per game average.
