Haydock assumes the controls of Wayne Generals football

Sherwood Haydock’s hiring as the new head football coach at Wayne High School is now official.

Haydock will meet with with his Generals and their parents for the first time on Tuesday, February 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the school, the team tweeted.
 


Haydock moves to Wayne from Woodlan High School, where he spent the last 9 seasons. The Warriors went 62-42 in that time, advancing to the 2A state finals in 2017 and to semi-state in 2015. Woodlan also won back-to-back Allen County Athletic Conference championships in 2015 and 2016.

From 2002 to 2010, Haydock roamed the sidelines at Harding High School. The Hawks won a 2A state title in 2006 and were runners-up in 2003. Harding also won a Summit Athletic Conference title in 2003.

He coached at Kokomo Northwestern from 1995 to 1997 and Whiting from 1988 to 1994.

Collectively, he’s 195-161 in 31 seasons as a head coach.
