While Snider and Homestead high schools’ wrestling teams will compete against one another on the mats Thursday, January 9, both schools are coming together to promote mental health awareness with Takedown The Stigma.
The inaugural event combines a Summit Athletic Conference wrestling meet with information on a variety of mental health services organizations to promote the mental well-being of students-athletes and adults.
Representatives from Parkview Behavior Health, RemedyLIVE and other area groups will be available throughout the evening , highlighting their mental health programs. Parkview Sports Medicine is pleased to help sponsor this event.
Admission to Takedown the Stigma is free for spectators. The event starts at 6:30 p.m., just prior to the start of the junior varsity wrestling meet.
