Snider football seniors Holtz, Belizaire ink college plans

Two Snider football players will continue their playing careers after signing their national letters of intent.

 

Offensive lineman Randy Holtz is heading to the Big Ten Conference after signing with Indiana University. Hotltz's versatility will allow him to play either offensive tackle or offensive guard for the Hoosiers, who are winding down their best season in 25 years. Holtz is an All-Summit Athletic Conference, All-Northeast Indiana and All-State He is a finalist for Indiana Mr. Football and won the Mr. Football positional award among offfensive linemen. He is leaning towards studying secondary education.

 



Defensive tackle Gianini Belizaire signed with Southern Illinois University, a Football Championship Subdivision program is in the town of Carbondale. The Salukis play in the Missouri Valley Conference. Belizaire, originally from Gonaives, Haiti, tallied 16 tackles for loss and 5 sacks as a senior. For his career, he finished with 13 sacks. Belizaire was named All-SAC, All-Northeast Indiana and All-State. He moved to the United States in 2012. He plans to study business.
