A nearly century-long basketball rivalry between South Side and North Side has new stakes with the introduction of trophies for winners of the boys and girls games between the two high schools.

The Reichert-Hey Memorial Trophies debuted on December 13 during an SAC doubleheader between Archers and Legends. Named for Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame former coaches Don Reichert of South Side and By Hey of North Side, the traveling trophies symbolize some of the richest basketball histories in the state of Indiana.
