Heritage two-sport duo signs on to college athletic plans

Two Heritage two-sport student-athletes will continue their athletic careers at the next level. Seniors Maggie Castleman and Bree Dossen held a college signing ceremony Wednesday at the school.

Maggie Castleman signed her national letter of intent to play women's volleyball at Purdue University Fort Wayne, an NCAA Division I program. Castleman scored more than 1,200 kills for her career; and as a senior, she had 328 kills (4.1 per set),  286 digs, 35 aces, 34 assists and 25 blocks. She earned 1st team All-Allen County Athletic Conference honors the last two seasons, and was named MVP of the ACAC Tournament.

 

Bree Dossen

Bree Dossen will play women's basketball at Indiana Tech, an NAIA program in Fort Wayne. In 3 games so far this season, she's averaging 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals and 1.7 assists per game. As a junior, she averaged 14.9 points and 5.7 rebounds, earning 1st team All-ACAC regonition. She was also a 2nd team All-ACAC selection this year. Indiana Tech entered this season as back-to-back regular season Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference champions and WHAC Tournament champions
 

Together, Castleman and Dossen helped Heritage volleyballto 3 regular season ACAC titles in 4 seasons and back-to-back ACAC Tournament titles. On the basketball court, the Lady Patriots finished 16-6 last year and advanced to the ACAC Tournament championship game.
