South Side's Jaci Jones joins Detroit Mercy women's basketball

South Side High School senior Jaci Jones will continue her basketball career at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Jones signed her national letter of intent with the Titans women's basketball program on Wednesday, November 13, during a ceremony. Detroit Mercy is an NCAA Division I school that plays in the Horizon League.

Jones, a guard, averaged 12.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game as a junior, and earned 1st team All-Summit Athletic Conference honors. She started her senior season with 20 points in against Indianapolis Cathedral on November 9.

During her time at South Side, the Lady Archers have won a Parkview Sports Medicine SAC Holiday Tournament championship and a sectional title.

Jones plans to major in business and minor in sports marketing.
