Snider High School senior Payton Gorman will continue her track & field career at the collegiate level.
Gorman signed her national letter of intent with Bowling Green State University, an NCAA Division I school in Bowling Green, Ohio, during a ceremony Wednesday, November 13, at the school. She will run the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash for the Falcons, which compete in the Mid-American Conference.
At last June's state track meet, Gorman finished 7th in the 400 and 15th in the 200. She is the reigning Summit Athletic Conference and sectional champion in the 400, regional runner-up in the 400, conference and sectional runner-up for the 200 and conference runner-up for the 100-meter dash.
She is also a 2nd team All-SAC basketball player and honorable mention All-SAC volleyball player at Snider.
Gorman plans to study medicine with hopes of becoming a doctor.
