Marsh takes over West Noble Boys basketball program

May 15, 2019

LIGONIER, Ind. - Ethan Marsh is returning to the Northeast Corner Conference as the boys basketball coach at West Noble High School.

“I’m very familiar with West Noble,” Marsh tells ParkviewSportsMedicine.com. “It’s just one of those places that is hungry for basketball.”

Marsh comes to West Noble from his alma mater, Columbia City, where he was an assistant coach for the last 3 seasons. Prior to that, he spent 2 seasons as head coach at county rival, Central Noble.

Marsh is looking forward to returning to the traditions of the NECC: big crowds, small towns, long road trips, old gyms and exciting basketball.

“We’re going to be the aggressors,” he says. “Trying to keep kids excited and interested is a fun style to play. When they really buy into being aggressive - that they’re the ones dictating the game.”

Marsh is already building his staff, and has added Gary Goshert, a former head coach at West Noble, Wawasee and Manchester.

“Basketball in Indiana is a a big deal. The entire experience is enjoyable. Coaches put in a ton of time. I don’t think people would be willing to do it if it wasn’t so fun.”

Marsh is also a social studies teacher at Columbia City, and intends to keep teaching there.
