
Blackhawk Christian boys basketball used a fourth quarter rally to win the 2A state championship Saturday afternoon.
The #3 Braves knocked off top-ranked Linton Stockton, 52-45, to win their third state title in five years.
Blackhawk Christian trailed 29-18 at halftime, but used a 13-2 run in the third quarter to surge to the lead. The Braves would hold off the Linton for the last 6 minutes to seal the victory.
Kellen Picket led Blackhawk Christian with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Gage Sefton added 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Joey Hart scored 23 points for Linton-Stockton, but was held to just one field goal in the second half. The Miners (29-2) have never won a state championship, but have reached the State Finals in 2019 and 2013.
