Heritage High School senior Rylan Whitacre will continue his football career at the next level.
The standout linebacker for the Patriots put pen to paper on Wednesday, signing with the Wabash College football team during a ceremony at the school.
Rylan tallied 110 tackles (88 solo, 22 assisted) including 12 tackles for loss, one sack and four forced fumbles as a senior. He amassed 308 tackles for his career. Rylan was selected 1st Team All-Allen County Athletic Conference three times, IFCA Region 3 All-State this past season and recognized as Academic All-State with a 3.89 grade point average.
Wabash College is an NCAA Division III program in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The Little Giants play in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Wabash's rivalry with DePauw for the Monon Bell is one of the most storied rivalries across college football.
Rylan plans to study physics at Wabash College.
