South Side volleyball coach selected for Indiana Elite North vs. South Showcase

November 12, 2022

When South Side volleyball coach Brittani Turner takes the court for the Indiana Elite/North South Showcase this weekend, she will be representing the progress made by the Lady Archers within the last year.

Turner, who just finished her first season at South Side, was invited to take part in the two-day gathering of some of the state's best volleyball players.

She also will use the showcase as a learning experience for herself--picking the brains of fellow coaches with hopes of bringing much of what she learns back to her team.

South Side volleyball placed fifth in the Summit Athletic Conference this past season, increasing their win totals from three in 2021 to eight in 2022. Turner was voted by her peers as SAC Coach of the Year. The Archers placed Justice Billingsley on the All-SAC 1st team, Alissa Angel on the 2nd team, and Janette Carranza and Natalyah Jones on the 3rd team.

Assistant coach Keosha Barnfield will be joining Turner at the Indiana Elite North vs. South Showcase at Lebanon High School.

A Fort Wayne native, Turner played volleyball and basketball at Canterbury High School. After college, she started her coaching career at Canterbury Middle School, before moving through the high school JV and varsity assistant ranks. South Side is her first head coaching job.

South Side is one of 31 high schools that partner with Parkview Sports Medicine for athletic training, nutrition, sports performance strength & conditioning, athletic rehab and other sports medicine services for Archer student-athletes. Learn more at
