There are several physiological benefits to treating your sleep apnea. For starters, your quality of life is better because you're getting better sleep. You can better control health factors such as blood pressure and diabetes. And there are cardiovascular benefits as well. If your body's arousing itself to wake up to breathe, that's putting a lot of stress on your heart. So, if you can eliminate those events, you will decrease the stress on your heart as well.
We can’t overlook the functional benefits of managing sleep apnea. Those with good sleep reduce their risk of accidents. Unfortunately, those who aren’t getting quality, restorative rest, risk falling asleep at the wheel. CPAP therapy can reduce this danger, and enhance energy and alertness throughout the day.
From a cognition perspective, good sleep means less brain fog. Controlled sleep apnea means less memory impairments and better mood.
