Collaboration to build bridges in mental healthcare

Last Modified: May 29, 2026

Healthy Mind

Parkview Behavioral Health Institute (PBHI) is dedicated to serving people when they aren’t sure where to go. Whether an individual finds themselves struggling with substance use, suicide ideation, homicidal thoughts, self-harm or something else, the team at PBHI is there to provide resources.

In these times of immense stress and pressure, everyone is facing some sort of mental health challenge. PBHI strives to break down barriers and help.

The PBHI HelpLine

The PBHI HelpLine is a 24/7 service for those looking for mental healthcare guidance and an understanding voice on the other end of the line. These trained specialists are willing to listen carefully and offer recommendations for next steps.

Mobile crisis team (SOS)

The mobile crisis team (SOS program) is a mobile intervention service on the frontline for mental health. The calm in the storm, the SOS team can be dispatched in place of or along with police, to offer mental healthcare in the individual’s own environment. As another person in everyday clothes, the mobile responders can offer input through a different lens and bridge the gap in crisis care and help people get care established. They’re in the moment with the patient.

Breaking down walls

A strong collaborative mindset, between the HelpLine, mobile crisis team and broader PBHI team, has led to a beautiful approach to coverage. Team members know each other’s strengths and provide support, to patients and one another. This leads to building bridges, rather than walls. As a result, patients get back out into the world, into their communities, and they truly have a place in it.

Whether someone needs help locating food, housing or childcare, grief or emotional support, or other interventions, these teams are dedicated to eroding stigma and facilitating solutions. Where there is need, the PBHI teams will be there, enhancing services and lending a thoughtful ear.
